Lovely room with amazing food!
I booked this hotel for a weekend away for my birthday.
We had been wine tasting at Broadfield Court (just up the road) so this hotel was a perfect location. We stayed in the luxury suite, which was lovely; the bed was so comfy and there was a spacious downstairs living room. The highlight of the weekend though, has to be the food. Definitely one of the most delicious meals we've had in a long time. I would definitely recommend England's Gate Inn and Coach House!
Received a lovely welcome from the young lady who checked us into this wonderful looking old coaching inn.
We had to book a room suited to a disabled person as we required a twin beds. To say the layout was cramped isn't an exaggeration as one of the beds is extremely difficult to get to. The room is more suitable as a single rather than a twin, but then there wouldn't be a room available for a couple where one or the other had a disability. The breakfast room was lovely in the same coach house as the rest of the accommodation where we were looked after by the wonderful Karen who provided us with a terrific breakfast, either preordered cooked or continental. Karen also looked after the housekeeping. The pub was full of character and the girls who worked there were friendly, welcoming and very good at their job. We ate in the pub on two of our thee nights and the service was great and the food was absolutely delicious. Saw the Manager on the last night and had to introduce myself to him as he was keeping himself to himself with no interaction with the customers which was a pity as he appeared to be a nice chap but the girls certainly made up for his lack of cordiality. Over all we had a great time in a lovely pub and converted coach house in a beautiful part of the country. The room was a big issue, squeezing maximum rooms from a small building. Although I believe there was a smaller room and the other ones were apparently larger but the only twin bedded room was the room we were in which was fitted out for a person with a disability but in truth only suitable as a single.
