It is no surprise that Seamill Hydro is one of the best loved and most popular hotels in Ayrshire, with its mix of Victorian grandeur, modern comforts, personal service and arguably one of the best locations of any hotel in Scotland. The hotel accommodation is flexible and offers something for every budget and our restaurants and bars something for every taste.
As a family owned and operated hotel we are also delighted to welcome families to come and stay with us, with our kids menus, designed by the local school, our great fun kids club and loads of stuff to keep the whole family happy including HydroSpa, spa and leisure facilities. HydroSpa, our leisure complex offers hotel guests and private members a heated indoor pool and air conditioned gym and also features HydroTherapy our exclusive spa, for all the pampering you could desire. Our brand new Orangery Restaurant takes full advantage of it’s location on the Ayrshire coast. Looking over the grounds of Seamill Hydro and on to over 100 square miles of land and sea. The Orangery features an expanse of glass offering unrivalled views across the hotel’s landscaped gardens and out over the Firth of Clyde and the islands of Arran, and, in the distance Ailsa Craig. Although the stunning and unique location of the Orangery restaurant make it the first choice for many, it is the superb quality of food and the exceptional service that will keep you coming back.

To whom this May concern.
My partner and I recently had a 1 night stay. I would like to start by saying it was a beautiful hotel and thank you.
Unfortunately, when we went down for dinner, my partner half way through her meal found a long curly hair in with her salad. The staff on call that night were excellent and dealt with the situation instantly getting her a fresh plate. Unfortunately this meant I had finished my dinner by the time she was starting hers. None the less the staff were very polite.
After struggling to sleep at night with the room being so hot I opened the window but then continued to struggle as our room was above what sounded like a ventilation fan which went all night.
The next morning we went for breakfast, which you give a fantastic choice. However when our hot breakfasts came out, again as if almost unbelievably there was another hair this time a shorter dark in my girlfriends breakfast. Again the staff dealt with it giving her a fresh breakfast. I understand some thing's can't be helped, however I ask the question as to what hair protection people in the kitchen are wearing.
Finally, your spa facilities are great, however what I would like to suggest is that the temperature of the pool be addressed, as well as he temperature of the "turbo pool" which was the coldest jacuzzi I've ever been in. In actual fact we struggled to stay in it for any length of time. I think with some heaters in the pool and some heaters in the changing areas the spa would be that of a higher level and a place where I would recommend others to visit.
I wanted to make you aware of these situations from our stay privately as I think it's the best way to deal with issues.
A hotel that has raised its game - a pleasure from start to finish
I have known this hotel all my life, as I grew up in the area, so I have seen it go through many incarnations.
It was always one of the better hotels in the area, but at times, standards slipped, and it was not always 'great'. It has recently had a refurb & rethink of some areas, and I have to say it is much improved. From start to finish the staff were fantastic in their attitude, welcome and service, the room was very tastefully decorated and furnished, extremely comfortable, quiet and with everything we needed. Love the free WIFi and the Arran Aromatics toiletries too. We are in the restaurant and the food was mouth-wavtringly delicious - quality ingredients show - and the menu and our choices were imaginatively put together and presented. At one point a man approached us to ask if everything was to our satisfaction, and we were struck by his genuine manner- he really wanted to know. After an excellent night's sleep, we found that breakfast was every bit as good - and my goodness what a difference smiling, pleasant staff make to the experience. So often people look dour, are unhelpful, and you have to virtually dance on the table to get their attention. Not here - staff were actively monitoring all the time to see if anyone needed anything. A lovely example of the attitude of staff was when we asked where they got the delicious black pudding from - the waitress quickly went off to check and came back with the information about the supplier and their location - that was all we expected - but a couple of minutes later she appeared again with a sizeable chunk of the said black pudding all wrapped up for us as a 'take out' with the compliments of the chef. As we were leaving, we met the same man from the night before and he turned out to be the general manager Norman - we had a lovely conversation with him, told him how impressed we were, and you could see from his reaction that he takes a real pride in his work, as do his staff - no doubt absorbing their great attitudes from a manager who has those values. So well done Seamill, we hope to be back soon and for longer. If you don't know, the location is virtually on the beach, and we loved sitting looking at the waves rolling in and sun setting over Arran from the restaurant. Bliss. If you are feeling more energetic or want to chill the spa/leisure centre is lovely too.
