Hotel shut on arrival at approx.
5.30pm. No cooked breakfast available before 9.00am. 'Continental breakfast' left outside room; this was adequate but very 'pre-packed'. Hotel shut on leaving at approx 8.30am. Had to let myself out, lock the door and return the keys through the letter box. Never experienced that before in 40 years of travel. Room clean but in need of refurbishment. Very old fashioned. I know it was a pub with a reasonable B&B rate, but it compared very poorly with many other B&B establishments.
