About the hotel
Camber Sands has a unique combination of miles and miles of unspoilt sand dunes with loads to do in the day as well as the evenings. The Blue Flag beach is a venue in itself, ideal for picnicking, playing or just lazing around. Away from the beach the beautiful old port town of Rye deserves exploring, along with the old smugglers hideouts dotted along the coast and of course the iconic White Cliffs – the traditional greeting for anyone sailing back to England Pontins at Camber Sands is a great place to be!

Good location and good value for money
Rooms are date and in need of modernisation.
Our room was filthy, pizza leftovers under the beds, hairs on the floor in the bathroom, sofa bed was broken - had one leg missing. We reported all this at reception and the receptionist was very good and efficient - have sent the maintenance guy around who fixed it and also housekeeping to clean. When the housekeeper arrived she asked us where the dirt was because in her opinion it was clean. Oh, and if you don't pay for room and bed linen at the time of the booking then make sure you bring yours from home. They sell it in the shop for £20 double and £10 single and it is of a poor quality.
Positives: good location, beach is only 5 min away. The games room is brilliant, there's something for everyone in there and it keeps the little ones busy and at the end they get to choose a toy from the gift shop. The playgrounds outside are fantastic, again for all age groups and of a good variety. There are bunnies everywhere which makes it even more entertaining for the children.
We had breakfast at hotel which was okay, full English and selection of cereals.
All in all, I would return here mainly for the location and children activities. I would probably bring a cleaning disinfectant and give it a sweep myself if we stayed longer. This time we only spent one night in there.
You get what you pay for.
I had read all the reviews before I went, so knew roughly what to expect, we only went for one night but did have a great time, the room was very basic and the cooker looked derelict, but I knew I wasn't going to be using it so it didn't bother me, as we were only there for the night we didn't have any bed sheets which was a bit strange but I also never asked for some, maybe if I had they would have got me some, my 3 year old loved the arcades and enjoyed the entertainment, was this a 5* resort No but I wasn't expecting it to be, it was just somewhere cheap where we could sleep as we knew the weather was going to be nice and needed somewhere to sleep, I wouldn't want to spend a week here but I would stay for a weekend, all in all an enjoyable weekend.
