Breakfast was a waste of time, unless you really like dry toast and instant coffee.
The room was at the top of the building, they said the lift was out of action. No apology was made for this. There was also no sign of where the lift existed before it became unusable- was the lift ever real. The night staff were lovely. The day staff were either average, or just plain rude. Some customer service training might be an advantage, in order to increase the experience at the Wedgewood.
The room was small, and adequate. The walls are quite thin, so you can hear people snoring nearby.
Late booking so thought that was reason for the price of less than £50 we paid for the room which included "breakfast". But to be honest the room was awful and Late Rooms should think twice before acting for this "hotel". Checking in fine with a pleasant receptionist but was surprised to be asked for photo identification...even more surprised when my bus pass was accepted. We were directed into room 57 in the cellar. On entering the room, which was full of steam from the outside vent coming in from the deliberately propped open window. At this point I realised just why the room was so cheap. I could list the reasons but it would take too long.
To be honest this room should not be used for anything other than a storeroom. Breakfast consists of a choice of two cereals, tea or coffee, and toast and orange juice. The only redeeming point was that the toast was hot as you had to queue to do it yourself. The two "waitresses" said nothing not even Good Morning. I felt sorry that the visitors from foreign parts would think that this was typical British Hospitality. To be honest we couldn't wait to check out. I was glad that the receptionist didn't ask if we had enjoyed our stay . I think they are well aware how poor the accommodation is. We will not be back again and will think twice about using Late Rooms.com for accommodation.
