Great stay in a freindly little pub
Excellent value for money - easy parking and a warm welcome.
Even on a weeknight, the pub was busy with diners and the steak I had was absolutely excellent. The room was quiet and comfy and well within expectations for this price bracket. Breakfast was good and served promptly with an early start which is important when working away. Will definitely be back. One tip - the insulation tape holding the lamp wiring in the room together may need to go!
We came to the village on a self catering break earlier in the year, and had a evening meal at the Bull.
We were looking for somewhere to stay again, to visit the Claymills Pumping station at Burton during their steaming weekend. We were made welcome by a member of staff on arrival, and shown our room although the pub didn't open for another 1/2 hour. The room was comfortable, quiet, and we could choose a time to suit us when to have breakfast. We also booked for evening meals which were reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and all were helpful and interested in our reasons for being in the area.
