We came to the village on a self catering break earlier in the year, and had a evening meal at the Bull.
We were looking for somewhere to stay again, to visit the Claymills Pumping station at Burton during their steaming weekend. We were made welcome by a member of staff on arrival, and shown our room although the pub didn't open for another 1/2 hour. The room was comfortable, quiet, and we could choose a time to suit us when to have breakfast. We also booked for evening meals which were reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and all were helpful and interested in our reasons for being in the area.
an ok stay
We arrived about 4.45pm while the pub was shut and felt we should have waited until it opened.
We had a lovely room with a comfortable bed but sadly our shower was broken, The landlord did offer us alternative accommodation but it was only for one night so managed with a strip wash.. The food was excellent in the evening and also for breakfast.
