About the hotel

The Kings Arms is a quaint and cosy pub run by a small team of family and close friends. We endeavor to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere in which our customers can comfortably enjoy their stay with us. In the summertime our large trade garden provides a safe environment for children.

During the cold winter months our open fire is always an irresistible magnet. We serve a home cooked meals with a Mediterranean influence daily with a lunchtime and evening menu, Monday - Saturday. Or enjoy one of our Sunday Roasts with a tempting homemade dessert. We are located close to the historic town of Colchester where you can visit the famous castle, we also are near to the excellent Colchester zoo. There is a bus stop directly outside of the pub with regular buses that can take you Colchester or Chelmsford. There is also a nearby train station in Marks Tey with a direct line to London.

Garden shed

Stayed in room 4 which I jokingly refer to above as a garden shed.

The room is like a garden chalet out the back of the pub but it has eveything you need from a hotel room and the people who run the pub are absolutely spot on you couldnt want for better hospitality.

only problem

Room was on the ground floor I think it was a garage at some point, very celan and tidy but very noisey from traffic and trains.
