One night stay on the way to Harry Potter tour.
The pub, bar etc.
are real old world and extremely welcoming. The staff were attentive and polite at all times. The food was good in the evening, even though the menus was a little restricted. The room we had (No.1) was in need of a complete upgrade, especially the bathroom. The shower although extremely large had mold in the grouting and at ceiling level. The whole bathroom looked "dirty" as a result. The carpet was well worn but the bed linen was clean as were the towels. Okay for one night but I would not like to stay in this room for much longer. The breakfast is excellent, served by the owner who was extremely attentive and courteous.
Mould and damp room
Considering thee write up of the room led me to believe it had recently been updated to a high standard (in fact I do believe they said something along the lines of superior), perhaps they should qualify what year as I am sure this must have been many years ago.
When entering the room you could smell the damp (no wonder all the windows were opn upon arival). When I tried to work at the desk, I attempted to turn on the table lamp. Didn't work so went under the desk and that is when isaw the damp and mould growing. Carpet was full of stains. Shower floods the bathroom, hence I suspect the damp. Kettle was disgusting.
WIFI did not reach the room
