Shame about the room!
We stayed at the Narborough Arms as it was close to friends where we were making a short visit and it was reasonably priced.
We didn't get the chance to eat in house, but the pub looked bright and welcoming. Unfortunately, Room 2 left something to be desired:
The sink taps needed a wrench to turn on and off and it was almost impossible to regulate speed and temperature on the shower. We felt the furniture lay out could have been better, and a second bedside cabinet would have been useful. Although the bedclothes were crisp and freshly cleaned, there were still some residual stains on the white sheets (not sure if red wine or blood). There were tea/coffee stains down two of the walls.
The stairwell had a 'Mind your head' sign, but there should be signs in the room. With the steeply sloping eaves I managed to bang my head head twice. I know I should have been more aware, but while bending over the bedside cabinet and the TV it is easy to lose spacial awareness. While we have put 'no' to the 'stay again' and 'recommend' questions', we could change our answers if some improvements were made or for another room.
Huge bed. Massive room.
