Quaint but remote
A nice little place albeit off the beaten track.
You will definitely need a car to go places as there's not much around here at all. Phone signal on any network is bad in the region as a whole, but it's particularly bad here. Sadly the room we stayed in didn't have wifi so this made things very difficult. The owners did turn it on and it worked to a degree but kept dropping out. Second night it was off completely.
A little cold at night as the heating goes off early but there is an electric heater provided to make life more comfortable. We needed to put this on a few times. Breakfast is served from 8.30 to 9.30, so a narrow window and not for early risers. Continental was delivered to our room the night before as we had to leave at 8.30 one morning.
We would like to just say a few words regarding your recent quite negative review of The Old Farmhouse. Firstly the title you gave is deceiving as we do not consider ourselves in the slightest 'remote', we maybe out of the way and very quiet and peaceful, but it only takes 10 minutes to walk down to the village and the shops as you did yourselves. Secondly, with regard to being cold, our heating is on from 3.30pm to 10.30pm and we think this is usually long enough for most guests, when you checked in we did say you can turn the radiator up or down as necessary. Thirdly your comment about our breakfast times, we find that anytime between 8.30 and 9.30 suits most people, however if someone does want an earlier breakfast we would certainly accommodate them and have done in the past. When we discussed breakfast with you on your arrival we got the impression you preferred to have a tray left in your room for the first morning as you had an early start, if you weren't happy with this, why didn't you say at the time and we would has given you an early breakfast, we did offer this to you. It is a shame that you didn't mention any of these issues at the time but waited until you got home to publish a not so complementary review. With regard to the poor wifi, as we explained to you, we were installing a new booster router and that should improve reception, but you must accept that we are not in a large town or city and signals are not going to be as good, this also applies to mobile signals being generally poor in North Wales and there is not much we can do about that. We feel we always go above and beyond for all our guests and provide beautiful rooms in a stunning locations and we are sorry you did not find us to your satisfaction.
