Mercure Telford Madeley Court Hotel

I didn't like the stairs up to my room, which was on the top floor - especially as I had a heavy suitcase.

My room was ok but very small and the shower leaked but everything else was fine. Staff were great. I wouldn't stay here again but it was only £93 for 2 nights so can complain too much at that price.

Poor Breakfast was a disappointment

We only used the restaurant for breakfast, but poor and chaotic service spoiled it.

There were not enough tables to seat everyone for breakfast, so lots of people were left waiting in the lounge to be called when tables became available. Despite taking room numbers, there was no queueing order so some people got in quickly, others were waiting a long time. Restaurant staff were friendly but clearly had not been given sufficient training to cope with a busy restaurant. The Sausages and Bacon were undercooked- in fact the sausages looked raw. New Eggs were put on top of eggs which had been sitting in the warmers for a long time. We had to re-request our tea/coffee and toast a couple of times. It was very poor. The Hotel is a lovely building but out room (24) although large was devoid of any character. Changes in water pressure meant the shower was either freezing cold or more worryingly very hot, not a pleasant or relaxing experience.

When there are weddings there is insufficient car parking for the number of cars, leaving you to park on the grass verges.
