A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Helen welcomed us warmly and went out of her way to meet our needs. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and the provision of a cosy lounge more than compensated for the bedroom being just a little cramped. The breakfast was outstanding with a menu to suit all tastes and Helen served it promptly and graciously. It was excellent value for money.
Gem of a place.
Always like to stay somewhere a little different when away on business but also slightly wary of farmhouses as they can be a little old fashioned and tired.
Not this one. The room appeared newly refurbished, was contemporary in design, and a lot of thought had gone into all the little extras that turn an average stay into an excellent one. Proper toiletries, alarm clock, filter coffee with coffee pot, dressing gown, hot water bottle, maps to pubs for evening meals, suggested walks in the area, little things that all add up. Bed and pillows were actually so comfortable that I didn't even bother going out for an evening meal. And to top it off, the breakfast was superb. Cooked to order and all with local ingredients. Brilliant start to the day. The hosts are friendly, attentive and efficient, and the whole experience made a business trip seem like a mini holiday. Will definitely stay again.
