The Nyton Guest House

Friendly welcome and excellent service.

Clean and comfortable. Good choice of food for both dinner and breakfast and plentiful portions too. Well situated for the city centre but quiet and peaceful. On site parking a bonus.

Good clean room, breakfast good, but receptionist weren't very welcoming.

The room was clean and welcoming, the added bottles of water was a great idea.

The breakfasts were good and plenty to chose from. However, on arrival I found the receptionist not very welcoming, which was a bit off-putting. On the second evening, we asked to eat in the restaurant but was told they had a function and the restaurant was not open to guests. The receptionist didn't give any alternative suggestions or any help with finding somewhere else to eat, I would say she was very unhelpful verging on rudeness. Later on, we spoke to the chef (who was great), he suggested some restaurants by the river, where we had a lovely meal. On our return, the private function was in full swing, but it was below our room and very noisy. It didn't help when trying to sleep. The following morning, no one apologised for the noise.

All in all, the room was great also the breakfasts, but I would have expected the receptionists to advise us of the dining room being closed either on our arrival or on that morning and not leave their paying guests to fend for themselves also I would expect them to advise us that there would have been noise due to where the function took place and where our room was situated.
