1 night in June 2015

We stayed as a couple in Room 1 family room on a Saturday night.

The room was spotless with a nice ensuite and everything you would expect to find including a decent sized tv. Be warned though, the 4-poster bed is extremely creaky!. The decor was nice throughout, seemingly an older property trying to give the impression of being even older than it actually is. Lots of nice wooden panelling on the downstairs walls and a nice lounge area with a large bay window looking out onto the garden. The staff are lovely, very welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was nice but not outstanding, can't comment on evening meals as we ate out. Easy walking distance from the centre of Ely. Overall - recommended.

Great place, a bit of a timewarp

Friendly place that is a perfect cross between a guest house and a hotel.

Panelled walls and a large fireplace in the hall / lounge create a wonderfully cosy, warm environment. Our room was a reasonable size with a slightly small en-suite and a great view of the mature trees in the secluded garden. Decor was a little tired and some of the fittings were 'cheap' to put it bluntly. Specifically, lampshades and so forth. The bed was super comfortable however, and the shower looked brand new. Linen was good and clean, lots of facilities in the room such as an iron (most welcome), and well stocked tea & coffee making kit. TV was super small, but there is a larger one in the lounge. Breakfast was good, with local sausages, etc. and a nice touch - they had poached haddock on the menu too. Walking in to town takes just a few minutes, and I would love to visit again.
