About the hotel
Nestling under Kilnsey Crag in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales approximately 12 miles from Skipton, the Tennant Arms was built in the 17th century as a coaching inn for travelers passing through Wharfedale. It is ideally suited for walking, touring and fishing with Kilsney Angling Club established in 1840 being based here with fishing on the river Wharfe and Skirfare. We are in easy reach of the market town of Skipton and spa towns of Harrogate and Ripon or for visiting Bolton Abbey and numerous other attractions.
At the Tennant Arms you will be assured of a warm welcome, a fantastic location, great home cooked fresh food with a wide variety of dishes for all tastes, blazing log fire, well kept local and national Ales, plus a wide and varied wine list including local country wines and a high standard of accommodation. Great setting and really nice room.
Currently doing a little refurbishments but nothing at all major and nothing that made the room look unclean etc.
Warm, comfortable and welcoming
This was our second visit to the Tennant Arms and it was every bit as good as we remembered.
We arrived on a cold wet day and decided to have a quick drink in the bar. This turned out to be so warm and comfortable that we ended up taking root at the fireside and one quick drink became four leisurely ones - it's that kind of place. The evening meal was excellent, the rooms also and every one of the staff made us feel welcome throughout. We haven't quite been to every pub and hotel in the Dales (as if!), but we're in no rush to find anywhere better than the Tennant Arms.
