Victoria Hotel

I appreciate the good location and car parking but still believe the standard of this hotel does not give good value for money.

Having said that an issue was the heating was dealt with very promptly and breakfast was good.

Needs a major decor overhaul

We didn't check in until early evening as we had spent the day shopping and looking round Oxford.

When we did go to our room it was going to be for the evening. There are tea/coffee making facilities in the room and took our own snacks and water in with us. The room is in need of redecoration, there is a clash of carpets, curtains and wallpaper and I think if you were staying longer you would be disappointed. The windows had mould/condensation around them and this mould had transferred onto the net curtain which didn't give a good impression, if I could see it, couldn't the cleaners. The bathroom is also in need of a major refit, tired bath and surround, sink and loo. There was also mould/mildrew around the bath seal, kind of made me not want to have a shower in case I caught something from the water system. Breakfast was pleasant, I think the male owner served the guests and bless him, seem pleased with what was coming out of the kitchen. It was a nice cooked breakfast, you helped yourself to tea and coffee, cereals and condiments butter and jams.

I don't think in the hotels current condition I would stay again, but with a major update, I think I would.
