The pub is closed ! Breakfast toast & cereal! Ok for site workers not for families kids or traveller

I paid £89 for one person for one night...

Very poor value for money. I booked this hotel as it was advertised as being over the top of a busy pub but the pub is closed so I had to go out... The Hotel is not in the nicest of areas and the local pubs are scruffy. The room was large and clean and the bathroom was smart and newly fitted but because it is in a rough area the windows were barred, I imagine to keep out the locals, and it felt like I was in jail. I slept well and it was warm in night on a cold evening.... most hotels save money by turning off the heating and freezing their guests. The breakfast was rubbish, cereal or toast and tea/ coffee... I heard overseas guests saying " This is not an English Breakfast." I felt sorry for them. I would say this is fine for site workers to stay in, but not for travellers, holiday makers or families. I wouldn't stay here again.

To get to the "En-Suite" we had to leave the room, cross the corridor and unlock another door which is certainly on my definition of an En-Suite ?????.

I dare say some people may describe the breakfast as a "continental" breakfast . There was a cereal choice, an opportunity to toast the bread or a single choice croissant, butter/marmalade or cheese available (no jam), orange juice and coffee. Bedroom clean and beds good.
