Very Reasonable and pretty good location
Staff were friendly, carpark was secure in a courtyard (£10 a night extra).
The apartment was clean and tidy, not huge but it had everything you needed for a weekend stay. Worked out better value than a hotel and it meant we had a small kitchen and living room to socialise in. The area is very quiet also. Walking distance into the centre and there are plenty of shops and cafes nearby. Would stay in again (they were also reasonable about extending the check out from 1030hrs which was a bit early after a night oot!)
disappointed with accommodation but great staff
We were very disappointed with the apartment.
We were expecting 4*, "hotel comfort" and rooms which had been refurbished in 2011. Instead when we walked into an initially cold room (this was January - would have been nice to have heating on), we found: a damaged sofa, marks on the walls, thin pillows, yellowing gloss paint and mouldy grouting in the bathroom, cheap looking kitchen units and styling that is 20-30 years out of date.
We asked for (and eventually got) a cover for the damaged sofa and two extra pillows, and we used the cushions to make the sofa and dining chairs more comfortable. This made it bearable. What saved this was the attitude and hard work of the staff. Although the accommodation looks poor, it was kept impeccably clean. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a big plus being able to leave our luggage there after check out. Apparently Fountain Court have several different apartment blocks throughout the city and Fountain Court Grove (where we stayed) is the "budget" end - not that it was particularly cheap as it was more expensive than the hotel chains that we normally stay at.
