About the hotel

The village is a close knit community which offers a range of interests and activities. Langleigh House, dating back to the early days of Berrynarbor, was once the village post office. The property was re-modelled, extended and became a guesthouse in the 1930’s.

Today Langleigh House set in half an acre of landscaped gardens with a southerly aspect, offers a relaxing and peaceful atmosphere in which to unwind. The guesthouse accommodation consists of 4 double rooms and 1 twin room looking out over the Lee Hills/Sterridge Valley or The Village. All rooms are en-suite and are decorated and furnished to a high standard through a policy of continued improvement. Each room has tea and coffee making facilities, remote control freeview television, alarm clock/radio and hairdryer. Refrigerators with fresh milk are available to guests on both landings. Breakfast can be served in our charming dining room or taken on the terrace or decking with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, weather permitting. A changing menu of food is freshly prepared, home cooked and locally sourced. The coast path from Minehead to Lands End is within 1/2 mile, and offers exciting cliff top walks or beautiful short strolls from convenient car parks. Away from the coast are the wilds of Exmoor, with red deer, hidden valleys and charming villages. There is excellent walking on many marked tracks and horse riding is readily available. Ilfracombe has an indoor swimming pool, golf, riding stables and fishing trips from the harbour. There are regular trips to Lundy Island to see the puffins with pleasure trips along the heritage coastline aboard the Ilfracombe Princess and the Big Steamer ships Balmoral and Waverley.

A Devon gem

The location was perfect for us as we were exploring the area with a view to future holidays in Devon.

Gill made us very welcome and provided us with a cream tea on arrival which we were able to enjoy sitting out on the patio overlooking the beautiful gardens. Our room was of the highest standard, very clean and comfortable. The only thing missing was a DVD player!

welcoming and first class

From the moment you arrive you are made to feel welcome.

The quality of the room was 5 star, exceptionally clean and stylish. The hoteliers were very helpful and informative on local attractions. The breakfast was amazing. I would recommend this accommodation to anyone wanting a relaxing break in first class surroundings within a short drive of some stunning scenery.
