Nice location and beach, aged rooms and terrible breakfast

It seems the idea was to build luxury hotel on the nice beach with artificial pound on the back.

However, now the only beach with nice corals remains. The pound looks like muddy puddle, bungalows are aged and need renovation urgently and hotel staff is indifferent. And they serve the most terrible breakfast I ever tried in Malaysia. But they still charge luxury price. From positive side, they have electricity and aircon all day round, water was hot enough and the pressure was good, the room was cleaned daily. So you can go there if you have no other option, but then be prepared to pay high price for low quality.

wonderful beach, spacous room, good location, pretty garden, nice snorkling, saw turtles/monkey

We enjoyed our 4nights stay in PIR during Aug.

THe beach combines sandy and coral sections, so it's nice to play sand and snorkle, plenty fish to see by snorkling, also turtles and rays in sandy section. just go a bit further snorkle, you could find small reef sharks. We had breakfast in the resort but had other meals in CoralView , which was next door just 10 min away, good food and fresh juice. There was a group of monkey came to visit the jackfruit trees next to our bungalow, and there was a lot giant lizards in the garden pound, and it was the first time for us to see flying fox...we spent our 4 days enjoying water , garden, and food, and we took one day to hike through the island jungle trek, the road just starts behind the resort, we ventured to the beach at South, then took another trek cross to TunaBay Resort, it was a great fun.
