About the hotel
High above the Mawddach Estuary, Bryn Melyn Guest House offers a relaxing setting for a short break or holiday. Just ten minutes from the harbour-side restaurants of Barmouth, a charming Victorian seaside town, and yet a world away from everything and everybody. Enjoy far reaching views, comfortable 4-star graded rooms and good hearty food.
Watch the wildlife from our panoramic terrace. Explore the stunning landscapes and history of the Snowdonia National Park. Unwind, relax, recharge and expand your horizons. Wales is justifiably famous for its landscape and at Bryn Melyn you are surrounded by the very best that this remarkable country can offer. Most of our generous rooms feature large picture windows with far-reaching views across the Mawddach Estuary, the Cadair range of mountains and out to sea and we are surrounded by ancient woodland. All of our rooms are fully en-suite, and have been substantially refurbished over the last few years. Our comfortable and peaceful lounge is the perfect place to unwind. Maybe sit in the bay window and watch the bird-life, or browse our selection of guide books and maps for ideas. Amuse yourself with our selection of board games and jigsaws. Wash it all down with a drink from our well stocked bar, open every evening and serving a wide range of wines, local beers, spirits and liqueurs. The famous Victorian John Ruskin once said, ‘There is no finer walk in the entire world than from Barmouth to Dolgellau, other than that from Dolgellau to Barmouth! Walkers have known this for many years and come back again and again to find new paths to explore. But there is so much more to this area than just walking; attractive towns and villages, ancient sites, fabulous beaches, world class tourist attractions, plus a host of activities for all ages and backgrounds. Whatever your interest you’ll want to come back to explore further.

David & Heather are a really welcoming couple, providing a b&b service that feels like home from home.
The room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was something we looked forward to every day. They are also great at recommending various walks or visits to help you plan your day, even lending us a map for the walk we chose :)
Bryn Melyn Guest House, Barmouth WOW great value for money
This accommodation I'd exceptional with jaw dropping views.
Beautiful surroundings. Very homely with a very warm welcome when you arrive.
Bryn Melyn Guest House is very easy to locate, there's is a turning point for you car to turn around which make it perfect when turning into the car park on the right. The car park is very well maintained with lot of space for manover. Before checking in there a conservatory you walk through which contains information in the area it also has a a place where you can leave you boots and walking sticks. It also has a little fountain which is really pretty, so you can sit there with a beverage listen to the streaming water while taking in the views. After the conservatory there's a hall which is bright and very clean, there's also a large picture ( map of the area) which is highly useful.Theres also a water drinks machine.
When checking in there's a bell on the right to get the owners attention. When I checked in it was very quick and easy. The owners also show you around. Breakfast area is bright with stunning views. As for the breakfast DELICIOUS. The bar area is very homely with a gorgeous fire and plenty of comfortable chairs.the prices of beverage is good with very good quality wines and a large selection of other alcoholic drinks. The bar also has a bell for attention. The bar and food area over look the mountains you can also sit and watch the local wildlife, while listening to woodpeckers. I've never seen so many red robbins and other types of birds, ohhh and the local squirrel which is very qute and entertaining
I stayed in a twin, when the door opened my jaw dropped. Outstanding view, you can see for miles even the bigger mountains with the snow on top. The room itself was extremely comfortable with a large wardrobe and additional throws and pillows on top in a plastic bag. The room has two chairs and a table by the two windows which can be opened two separate ways. The bathroom is spotless. There's is a little container which has cotton buds and other items. By the there's hand-wash mini shampoos and conditioners etc. The actual shower is a dream with plenty of room the move. There's also tea and coffee, hot chocolate with separate milk there's also biscuits and other items such as information book on the area, bar list and other information books. I would highly recommend staying at the Bryn Melyn Guest House of all accommodations I stayed at this accommodation tops them all. Thank you
