About the hotel
This hotel is located 200 m from Lousã town centre. Restaurants, clubs and bars can be found between 1 and 2 km away. From Lousã castle guests can admire the charming chapels erected in honour of Nossa Senhora dos Aflitos, S.
João Batista, Nossa Senhora da Agonia and, right on top of the mountain, the Chapel of Nossa Senhora da Piedade. This could be the beginning of one of the many routes that lead guests, on foot or by jeep, to explore the Lousã Mountain. But Lousã is not only a mountain, it has many other interesting sights: manor houses dating from the 18th and 19th Centuries are a feature on many streets. The Misericordia and its chapel, the parish church, and the beautiful Baroque-style building of the town council contribute to this walk through history ending at the medieval bridge of Foz de Arouce. Housed in the 18th Century Palácio da Viscondessa do Espinhal, this hotel combines an ambiance of charm combined with all the comfort offered by a modern hotel. It has two wings: the palace, with period decoration and a new wing decorated in modern style. The hotel comprises a total of 46 rooms, a garden and a terrace. Facilities on offer to guests in this charming, air-conditioned historical establishment include a lobby area with a 24-hour reception, a hotel safe, a lift, a bar and a restaurant. For an additional fee, guests may also take advantage of the room and laundry services. A bicycle hire service is available (charges apply) and there is free parking for those arriving by car. The rooms come with a private en suite bathroom with a shower/bath as well as a hairdryer, a direct dial telephone, satellite/cable TV, Internet access, a radio, a minibar and a double or king-size bed. Furthermore, individually adjustable air conditioning and heating and a safe are provided in all accommodation as standard.

Absolutely gorgeous hotel - I would move in permanentlly if I could!
This might be the best hotel I have stayed in all my hotel-staying career.
It is a lovely old building with original features plus additional creature comforts. The staff could not have done more to help us - they were knowledgeable about local restaurants, walks in the area and various activities round and about. The room was of a decent size - it could have fit a family of 4 in no problem, as it was there were only 2 of us. The food in the restaurant was top notch, we stayed on Christmas eve and had the special set menu which included starter, main and then retiring to the 'pudding room' - yes my friends, a room filled with puddings on a help yourself basis. The pool looked inviting but it was a bit too chilly in December to temp us in for a dip. Ample parking at the back. Overall, it was a great base for a driving holiday around central Portugal with Coimbra not far away and lovely little villages to explore nearby. Come here, you will not be disappointed.
