About the hotel
Following our refurbishment completed in July 2008, we now have 5 ensuite, sound insulated bedrooms, of which 3 are double and 2 are twin. All our rooms are furnished to a high standard with solid pine furniture, tastefully decorated with neutral carpets, yet each is individually finished by Carol with it's own unique colour scheme, brought together with the thoughtful co-ordination of the soft furnishings. Originally inspected by the English Tourist Council we are very pleased to have been awarded 4 stars for the standard of our establishment.
We have also been awarded a silver award making us one of the top inns in the South West. We are no longer a part of the English Tourist Board but work hard to maintain the same level. You can be assured of a restful and relaxing stay with us. We hope we have thought of everything needed to make your stay as comfortable as possible, there are hair dryers, alarm clocks, digital TV's, fans, tea & coffee making facilities and many other thoughtful additions. Fibre optic wifi is available in the main bar area. All the rooms are located on the first floor and are sound insulated to keep any noise from the rest of the building to an absolute minimum. Indeed, even with our extrovert quiz master on the microphone (quizzes are held on the first Thursday of each month) we are assured that our guests rest has been undisturbed! We are able to add a single bed or cot in most of our rooms (the exception being our double en suite because of the room layout) A bed costs £20 per night including bedding, towels and breakfast whilst the travel cot is £10 to hire (no bedding)

100% would recommend it to a friend
This was a lovely traditional pub and I was particularly impressed with quality of the rooms.
Tastefully decorated with homely touches, generous amounts of tea and coffee and nice cleansing products in the bathroom. The breakfast was delicious too-would highly recommend.
A truly fantastic place to stay and would definitely recommend The Oak to anyone.
The room was of great quality and the breakfast was superb. If I am in the area again, I would definitely book at The Oak.
