Worst ever hotel experience
Zero sleep throughout a very long Saturday night.
Returning drunk guests from nightclubs. Shouting swearing etc until 0700 Sunday morning. No sleep possible. Ineffective management (not in same building). No refund offered. Terrible.
Never judge a book by its cover....so they say.
I finally found the hotel after the directions which i have to say weren't very clear, where to turn ( i had to ask at a garage)the parking spaces were all taken up so i had to park on the street which wasn't a problem.
I was met by a lady in what was signed as reception ( it was a hallway) and was taken straight to an adjacent building where there were 2 other ladys checking in also. there was no paperwork to fill out reciept given etc. We were walked upstairs and shown to our rooms, asked if we wanted breakfast which was served between 7.15am and 8.15am?????. the lady said quietly about workmen but that they wouldn't be doing it for much longer working in the bathroom. This didn't concern me as my room was ensuite however at 10 o clock when they finally finished drilling and hammering i was not really impressed, having been up since 6 i was kind of looking forward to a quiet evening watching the tv catching up with work. I asked about wifi when i was shown my room which i was given the web key for however she did say the signal was better down stairs so i wasn't surprised to find i could not access wifi in my room. The room, the carpet was all rippled and i did trip as i got out of bed, the bed was clean and was comfy however the chair which had the clean towels on it was thick with dust. I bathroom was clean in that it smelt of bleach. the shower cubicle was very rickety she did warn me that the taps were on the wrong way so hot was cold and vice versa. the skirtings were coming away from the wall. I like to try new hotels and am all for a bargain, however feel i was let by down by the fact they did not mention the work going on, did not mention the breakfast times and whilst i appreciate this is "family hotel" I certainly did not expect to come out to leave and find the dog doing its business on the lawn in front of the hotel. needless to say I will not be staying here again.
