Excellent Place to Stay
The proprietor couldn't do enough to help us.
He was a wealth of knowledge on where to go and what to see, even going so far as to draw us a map of the nearby waterfall complete with the various trails and what to see and do there. His made-to-order breakfasts were great, and he even made us tea/coffee when we returned all wet from hiking in the rain. The rooms are comfy and cosy, and the breakfast room has floor-to-ceiling windows with views over the nearby mountains and valleys. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay.

I stayed in a single room for one night, and I wish I could have stayed longer.
Dean and Steph were the perfect hosts, friendly and helpful. The pot of tea when I arrived was especially welcome. The room was a good size with a lovely view of Blencathra. Breakfast was excellent (especially the Aga-roasted tomatoes), and the pub/inn across the road took care of dinner. The best value for money in the Lakes. I'll definitely come back.
