We arrived at 7.30pm after travelling since 6am and spending time at hospital with relatives.
We were not in the main hotel as expected but taken around the corner to rooms above another pub (Harrys). We had access to the bar at the foot of the stairs. We were in a room named 'slytherin' (a reference to Harry Potter?) The windows were dirty and the shower could do with a good clean. The beds were ok and there were tea and coffee facilities. Unfortunately what we were not told was a disco had been set up in the bar which went on til midnight. We were very disappointed with the setup.
Good value for money
Staff were lovely.
Nice location - near Harry Potter studios and about 25 minute walk to train station where there are regular and fast trains to London. We were in the Barn which was round the corner from the hotel. It was a lovely apartment style room (without kitchen). Only complaint was that the toilet hadn't been cleaned (I had to do it myself) and the floor was a bit dirty. It also smelt of smoke in the bathroom. There was shampoo and shower gel but no soap - I had to buy some from nearby shop. Otherwise it was lovely. The food at the pub was excellent and reasonably priced for drinks too. I would stay again as it was good value for money.
