Nice location but that's about it
The hotel is located with a short distance of both the grand canal and the northern side; if I was asked about this I would give full marks.
The breakfast is as described (packaged croissants and jams delivered to the room with a choice of hot drinks and a bottle of juice), this I cannot complain about as we were pre-warned and it was ok and got us in the go. The hotel is located directly off a very nice canal with lots of bars and canal side restaurants with none of the rip off prices that you would see further into the city; this makes the location perfect as it also is within a short travelling distance of vaporetti stops and the main shopping route. the main problem for us was a small bar which was within 2m of our room window. There were customers of this bar shouting outside of our window until midnight and people shouting close by way into the night. Sleep is impossible unless you want to stay up until you are too drunk too notice. The first night we did this and it wasn't a problem but the 2nd night we had to get up early the next morning for a flight and therefore suffered muchisimo. The room was basic and small but comfortable. The little old lady who runs the place is lovely but does love a euro. This is amusing and we're still laughing but that's a different story. Youngsters go for it is all I'd say; you'll be amongst it and have a nice bed to stay in.
