About the hotel

Wilsham Farm offers luxury bed and breakfast accommodation, on the northern edge of Exmoor National Park, in magical surroundings, just outside Lynton on the North Devon Coast, close to the Somerset border. The farm is set in 80 acres of delightful Exmoor countryside on the Devon and Somerset borders and is blissfully peaceful, yet not isolated or remote. The approach to the farm overlooks Lynton and the sea, and the South West Coastal path is just a stroll away, linked by a foot path which runs through part of the farm.

From the period farmhouse, are far reaching views across the Exmoor landscape, and National Trust Woodland. The guesthouse accommodation is provided in large, spacious, en-suite bedrooms which have been tastefully modernised whilst retaining all the old charm and character. Look out from the bedroom window across the Devon countryside, and enjoy the flora and fauna of Exmoor. Come and indulge yourselves in the luxury spacious king-size 4 poster rooms, with glorious en-suite bathrooms, and enjoy breakfast in the conservatory whilst soaking up the spectacular view towards Watersmeet and the River Lyn. Watch the wild mallard land on the pond or the Red Deer (who visit us most mornings) graze on the lawn.

A beautiful location, overlooking rolling, forested hills and valleys

Richard made us feel very welcome, and nothing was too much trouble.

The bed was very comfortable, the guest lounge very well appointed, the swimming pool is clean and about twice as long as the photo can show. The breakfasts set us up for what turned out to be strenuous days. We'd be very happy to stay there again.

Going again

Wilsham Farm is very quiet, has a heated swimming pool (in its own greenhouse!), plus duck eggs in the full English for breakfast, has lovely views and great walks.

Richard is a fine host and he (and his nearly invisible but outrageously industrious wife Jane) made our stay very easy and enjoyable. Other half says : "strangely spicy scented Exmoor air which'll give a body a ridiculously ravenous appetite...Three course breakfast will mean lunch is an option for none but the food addicted or extremely young. I'd suggest at least 30 minutes recovery after same... And, of course, before swimming. Four-posters and six foot doubles in other rooms as far as I could tell... Not a hint of polycotton bedding to be found. Feather filled duvets and pillows made for an excellent night's sleep. The pool is heated to 30 degrees centigrade... Delish... Especially when a cloud-burst thunders down outside... Fabulously dramatic... Rather romantic... My other half huffed and puffed, but loved it really...

Walking... unfit townies beware... You'll suffer. Trainers aren't enough here in Winter, though Summer may well be a different matter. The ground was very soft and undulates unexpectedly. I fell over a couple of times - no harm done, thankfully. Richard is very chatty... mine of local gossip (don't mention the Floyds!!) and will secure reservations at the nearest eatery on request - The Blue Ball Inn at Countisbury... AND you are welcome to bring your own horse, if you have one..... this place was GREAT!!!"
