An excellent nights sleep with M1 on doorstep

This hotel is modern and has a contemporary feel about it.

In the grounds of Loughborough University, you can be assured of a good nights sleep as the beds are very comfy and considering close proximity to motorway, there is no traffic noise. After an excellent breakfast I felt refreshed and revived. I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Closed spa - noisy room - poor service

I booked to stay here because of the spa; found out when I arrived that it's closed for renovation.

They said they had arranged for guests to use the university swimming pool, but that was closed for the day when I checked in at 5.45pm. Put in a lodge room, in a separate building which seems to be primarily a student residence; room would have been OK if there hadn't been a very noisy generator parked just outside. Complained, and was moved to a better room in the hotel. Ordered a panini and coffee in the bar, which cost me £11.45 - coffee took 15 minutes to arrive, though they were not busy, after another 15 minutes I asked what had happened to the panini. They brought it out, lukewarm presumably because it had been sitting for a while waiting for someone to bring it to me, and quite small, not worth half what they charged. Had to ask again to get cutlery and a serviette. When I changed rooms, was told I could have a complimentary breakfast because of the problems - but no-one told the girl checking guests into the breakfast room about this. Breakfast was quite good, but again not worth what they charge. Overall a very disappointing stay.
