Metro Inn Newcastle
Such a bazaar experience.
Double bed with a metal single bed attached to the wall above - have to be careful not to hit the edge. The sinks etc are molded plastic - like you see in caravans/buses. There is a small old portable tv on the wall - the tv control is available from reception but it maybe an idea to take some sellotape to stop the batteries falling out as the back is broken. Vending machines in reception for coffee, juice, chocolate etc & we were told there was a kitchen if we wanted to make anything. Maybe ideal for working lads/young back packers etc - had more of a hostel feel rather than hotel. We cannot fault the cleanliness [white duvet/sheets/towels] and I was told on the phone prior to booking that the room only had a sink [toilet & shower rooms were down the hall] but honestly did not expect this to be as basic. If the place had not been as clean as it was - we would not have stayed. We actually found it highly amusing - especially as it was a stopover on our way home from a 4* all inclusive holiday in the sun. Never again will I listen to my partner who said 'just book the cheapest one.
