About the hotel

Suzanne & Stephen welcome you to Tinhay Mill. Our character accommodation has a cosy and relaxed atmosphere which helps our guests to unwind in this peaceful 15th century mill cottage. Visitors are invited to share the ambience of this special old house with its beamed ceilings, open fire place and timeless charm.

Ideally located on the Devon and Cornwall border for exploring historical landmarks, rugged coasts and the natural beauty of the West Country. Sandwiched between Dartmoor and Bodmin Moor with the North Coast just a 30 minute drive away will ensure there’s always plenty for the family to enjoy from Port Issac (Doc Martin country), Bocastle, and the famous King Arthur’s ruins at Tintagel to the Eden Project. Tinhay lies between the historic towns of Okehampton, Tavistock with Buckland Abbey, (Sir Francis Drake’s birthplace) and just across the River Tamar into Cornwall, Launceston, a quaint market town with its museum and Norman castle. Whether you’re holidaying in the West Country, fishing the many rivers available or on business, Tinhay is the ideal location and setting from which to start your day!

Very pleasent stay

The owners made us feel very welcome, the decor was about right not to fussy or cluttered.

We would very uch recommend for a stay. this establishment represent real value for money. The mill is a charming old building. Being an old building you should expect step steps and low pressure plumbling, a small price to pay for so much genuine old world charm. Thjwe owners made us feel very much at home.
