Directions - Sykes House Bed and Breakfast, Askrigg

3Self Classified Bed and Breakfast Ratings explained
Sykes House, Main Street , Askrigg, DL8 3HT
Situated in the traditional heart of the village of Askrigg, Sykes’s House is thought to have been built around 1687 and has undergone many changes over the years, from being a family home to having once been a Temperance Hotel. Now, it is a thriving village store with two large Bed and Breakfast en-suite letting rooms as well as a Tea Room.

There is a large secure covered courtyard that can accommodate bicycles and has plenty of room for any maintenance you may need to do. Wet coats can be left here overnight rather than dripping in your room!

Throughout all the changes the building still maintains many of its original features including the stone spiral staircase, exposed beams and fireplaces and stone floors.

**We regret that as Sykes House is a Grade 2 listed building, we have been unable to make it accessible for visitors with mobility problems or young children. The entrance door is narrow and our guest rooms are on the first floor up a steep and winding stone staircase.**
